I am sending out links at the very bottom of the email. They will be useful for this season.
As for the meet this Sunday April 13 at Saddle Brook please remember a few things.
1. Look for the Mahwah Track & Field Tent. It will be the Blue 10' x 10' tent. There will be two banners, one Blue that says Mahwah Youth Track & Field and the second one says PSE&G. We will be handing out each athletes race number at the tent. Please make sure that each kid returns their numbers at the end of each meet. If the number is lost the replacement fee is $5.00. Please make sure they are dressed for the weather. Feel free to bring lawn chairs if you choose not to sit on the bleachers or a small cooler. You can also purchase food at the concession stand.
2. ALL KIDS ARE PRE-REGISTERED, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PAY ANY ENTRY FEES FOR ANY OF THE SIX MEETS.
3. When the kids are getting their numbers at the tent, there will be sheets for them to sign up for each event. Please remember that each meet does not allow all age groups to compete in certain events. If you look at the meet schedule it shows which ages are allowed for which event. As stated in the parents meeting, as long as the kids have had four practices in an event they can participate in it. It is up to each individual kid to decide what event they want to compete on that day. The sign up sheets are just a guide for the coaches.
4. Please make sure that each kid has registered for their USATF-NJ number. You can do so on-line, the link is below. I will be getting a list emailed to me on Saturday letting me know who is registered. If I do not see your kids name on the list, they will not be able to participate after the first meet. It needs to get done for insurance purposes, so please do so ASAP. The club number is 0109.
5. If you wish to help out during the meet, they will be looking for volunteers to help out in different events at the various meets. Please do not be afraid to volunteer if you so desire.
6. Under no circumstances are parents allowed onto the track. The only exception is if your child is injured. If there is any problem or questions that you have, just come up to one of the coaches. I am the gate keeper in control of all of the kids exiting so you will have no problem finding me. I have the ear of all of the officials, and any problem can be quickly resolved.
7. The blue uniforms are strongly encouraged to be worn for the meets. Please do not alter them as they did cost $50.00 + for the set. If you did not pick them up yet, see me Thursday after practice for them. All uniforms are to be returned after the season is over by June 30th to get back your deposit. Please do not use bleach on the uniforms as they will get ruined. Feel free to have the kids to wear t-shirts under their uniforms. No gum chewing or loose hair. The young ladies should have their hair held back with a head band, scunci, pony tail, etc.....
8. Please have the kids come there at 12:30 so they have time to warm up as a team and it will be easier for them to warm up and stretch. Please make sure they listen to the announcements for when they call each event. I will not be able to hear every thing all of the time and I do not want anyone to miss doing an event. This year they will be having a sign near the 50 yard line showing what events & age groups they are calling. The order of events is listed on the meet sheet and will be followed as to what is running on the track, however they mix & match age groups. Please note that whatever age your child turns in 2008 is the age group they are in. If they turn 9, 11, or 13 this year thats is the age group they are in. Generally the meets end around 4:30-5:15, only the qualifying meet held on May 18th is longer. More on that as that meet approaches.

The first one is for the organization that runs our meets, it will give you directions to all meets, meet schedule as well as the results for each meet to be posted usually by Wednesday.
http://njstriders.com/ The second one is for the USATF-NJ website. From here you can register for your kids to get their USATF Number either on-line or printing out the form & mailing it in. The number is required by the NJ Striders for the insurance purposes at the meets. You can put down NJ Striders as the club (club # 0109) and the cost is $19.95.
